MODERN Eatery is a food and beverage outlet at the AthensWas Hotel. It offers delectable comfort food in a relaxed and unpretentious ambience, a fine selection of primarily Greek wines, and refreshing cocktails.

Located on the hotel’s ground floor, MODERN is wrapped in the intimacy of the exquisite yet serene atmosphere, giving guests a cosy feeling of warmth and a massive welcome to authentic Athens. The surroundings are fascinating: the design of the furniture, the coloured tapestry, and the hip layout create a unique setting.

A fresh take on summer dining in Athens, curated by Executive Chef Alexandros Charalabopoulos. The new MODERN menu brings together elevated comfort food, seasonal ingredients, and bold flavors—from signature sandwiches and fresh salads to artisanal pizzas and indulgent desserts.

Signature cocktails curated by “The GinFather” and a refined wine selection complete the experience.

The seating arrangement consists of three areas: one indoors, one open-air patio adorned with climbing plants, and one right on the most beautiful and famous pedestrian street in historical Athens, Dionysiou Areopagitou. This last one is the highlight of MODERN. It is the only food and beverage outlet of a five-star hotel in the city’s centre that offers outdoor food and drink in a marvellous and convenient spot.
